Suggestions for transportation & parking
Stay at the conference hotel. Rates are less expensive, there is low-cost parking, and a free breakfast is included.
CONFERENCE LOCATION
The conference is being held at Embassy Suites by Hilton Boston Waltham, 550 Winter Street, Waltham, Massachusetts 02451.
Why so far from Boston? You’ll save money! The sleeping room rates of $169 MUCH cheaper than in the city (usually $300 per night or more). A free hot breakfast is included. And parking is just $10 per night (often $60 or more in the city). No resort fee!
Weather
In September, the average day-time highs in Boston are 73 degrees and the average evening temperatures range from as low as 64 degrees. Meeting rooms may be cool due to air conditioning.
Airport
If it would take you more than eight hours to drive to this conference, ASGA recommends that you consider flying. Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) is the closest and most convenient airport.
Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) is about 18 miles from Embassy Suites by Hilton Boston Waltham.
Public Transportation

Remember that you will need transportation to and from the conference location, your hotel, restaurants, and attractions.
ASGA recommends that you save money while in Boston by using public transportation! Boston is a very commuter-friendly city. You can easily, and inexpensively, take public transportation from the airport to your hotel and to sight-seeing. At your hotel, you can easily walk to many restaurants and take public transportation/Uber/Lyft to tourist attractions and shopping.
The subway and bus routes serving Boston Logan International Airport are operated by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (better known as the MBTA or the “T”). To get to your hotel from Boston Logan, use MBTA’s interactive subway map to verify current routes and times.
Uber and Lyft
Both taxi-alternatives are convenient and easy to use. You’ll probably save money by using Uber or Lyft over a taxi.
Taxis
Boston taxis are available at Logan terminals 24 hours a day. All areas within a 12-mile radius of downtown Boston are charged a metered rate. Beyond the 12-mile radius the charge is a flat rate. Metered-rates from Logan to the Boston-area hotels range from approximately $25 to $50 (one to four passengers).
All fares leaving Logan Airport are charged a $2.25 airport fee. Travel through the harbor tunnels will cost an additional $5.25 toll fee. It is recommended that you ask the taxi driver for a receipt showing the driver’s name, the taxi company, the amount paid, and the medallion number.
Parking
Parking at Embassy Suites by Hilton Boston Waltham is $10 per day (normally $15).
